To all readers: ITM stands for In The Making. It is Sky Bruno's studio in New York and has been open since 2024. The work starts from the still image and the moving image and now spans archival practice, production, spatial and interactive installation, research, and cultural guidance. The studio keeps the images, voices, and knowledge its communities keep and documents Hawaiian and Indigenous futures as they are being made. Rooted in Hawaiʻi and Oceania, the studio reaches artists, brands, institutions, and communities wherever a story asks for care. Still young and still learning, ITM takes on a few projects each year that ask for belief. A commission draws on lived experience, time, research, and care. It also draws on a personal archive, a library, a set of tools, and a point of view built over a lifetime. ITM welcomes ideas rooted in identity, place, people, and cultural practice and carried by research and methods that are continually seeking.
